A misty coastal landscape at sunrise with low cloud over the bluffs

Foggy morning on the headlands

Marin Headlands, CA

The fog rolled in unexpectedly that morning. I had set out expecting clear light off the bluffs and instead got something quieter — a soft, gray world where the headlands faded into themselves.

I kept the camera at my chest and walked for almost an hour before lifting it. There was no urgency. The fog wasn’t going anywhere.
